PRP therapy involves injection of the patient’s own platelets (Platelet Rich Plasma) and fibrin (Platelet Rich Fibrin) for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles or scars in the face, hands, chest and neck. Truly it can be used anywhere on the body, but we use it for cosmetic purposes only. PRF is a second-generation PRP where autologous (a pre-procedure blood draw used on yourself) platelets and leukocytes are present in a complex fibrin matrix to accelerate the healing of soft and hard tissue and is used as a tissue-engineering and remodeling on the cellular level. Some may know this treatment as the famous “vampire facelift.” It is the natural alternative to botox-like and filler-like effects, with no side effect and the results can last up to 18 months. While comparable to fillers as it offers plumping and tightening of the treated area, it also works very well on stretch marks and all types of scarring. This versatile service is great for anyone. While this may seem like a pricey option, PRP rejuvenation is known as LIQUID GOLD, and that is not an exaggeration. The process begins with numbing cream applied topically to the face. Secondly, the blood is drawn like usual blood work at the doctors office. The blood is then put into a centrifuge, and spun so the platelet rich plasma is then separated from the other blood particles.
