traditional spa meets technology and medical treatments
Chemical Peels, Needling, & Microcurrent
offered at BASE Spa & Wellness
Chemical Peels, Needling, and Energy such as Microcurrent devices are some of the least invasive anti-aging treatments available today. We have a variety of options when it comes to these approaches.
Chemical Peels are a form of chemical exfoliation to renew the surface of the skin and repair flaws in the skin such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne, acne scarring, enlarged pores, melasma etc. It is important to know you do not always peel with a peel. At BASE we use fruit enzymes, Alpha-hydroxy acid, Beta-hydroxy acid, and other acids such as retinoic acid to resurface the skin depending on your skin type and concern.
Microneedling is one of the most natural forms of rejuvenation available. It is suitable for all skin types. Microneedling tightens, brightens, plumps and reduces signs of aging. Downtime is about 2-5 days.
Microcurrent is the least invasive of the three. Microcurrent uses low-voltage electricity to stimulate muscle, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) cell growth, and collagen development in the dermis on the face. It has been used in physical therapy for decades. We use microcurrent in spas to contour the face, improve tone and firm aging skin.
At BASE we are ever-growing and have some of the most sought after medical spa treatments available. As this menu will be growing we ask that you check back periodically for updates. If you would like to be added to an email list for the expansion details and information, just give us a call and let the front desk know.

TCA, Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic, Kojic, Azelaic, Arbutin, Hydroquinone, and Pure Retinol are in our arsenal. The chemical chosen will reflect the desired outcome of the client. The level of the peel you desire does require some foundation work for level II and above. This means that if you haven’t had a peel before, we must condition your skin for weeks leading up to peeling to this depth.
Enzymes, Boosters/Add-on’s, and Level I Peels do come in a variety of strengths, acid varieties, and focuses however primarily effect the epidermal or the most superficial layer of the skin categorizing this type as a superficial peel. Therefore, it is not required in most cases to prepare for this type of chemical exfoliation.
Level II and Level III Peels can only be provided by a medical professional and work deeper into the skin surface down to the dermis. This often will require 6+ weeks of skin conditioning and additionally some down time.
Skin conditioning consists of a skincare protocol recommended by a professional including a retinol and possibly other exfoliating and repairing ingredients to prepare and strengthen the skin.
Most peels are recommended to be done in a series, rather than a one and done type service. It is not suggested that you peel aggressively in the initial treatments, as it is important to see how the skin reacts, and what the client can handle. After the initial treatment, more aggressive treatments may be suitable yielding more noticeable results.

Microneedling is a procedure designed specifically to invoke the healing response in your skin by causing micro-trauma in a targeted way. This directly stimulates collagen and elastin production which is a key component in youthful looking skin. While using a pen with a small head that contains 12-100 micro-needles, the pen is carried back and forth over the skin gently yet quickly. The needle head that is chosen will be based on your desired results and skin type. The needles then oscillate at high power causing them to come in and out of the pen at rapid speeds to pierce the superficial layer of your skin thousands of times over a few seconds. Don’t be alarmed – this treatment is completed after a numbing agent is applied topically to the skin. The targeted area is the dermal layer of the skin, so the settings of the needle depth will be changed over the course of the treatment. Special serums are used in conjunction with this treatment to amplify results. Microneedling is a great option for anyone looking to defy age. The skin will tighten, brighten, plump, and rejuvenate as a result! A series of four microneedling sessions is recommended as a start to this natural driven anti-aging journey.

PRP therapy involves injection of the patient’s own platelets (Platelet Rich Plasma) and fibrin (Platelet Rich Fibrin) for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles or scars in the face, hands, chest and neck. Truly it can be used anywhere on the body, but we use it for cosmetic purposes only. PRF is a second-generation PRP where autologous (a pre-procedure blood draw used on yourself) platelets and leukocytes are present in a complex fibrin matrix to accelerate the healing of soft and hard tissue and is used as a tissue-engineering and remodeling on the cellular level. Some may know this treatment as the famous “vampire facelift.” It is the natural alternative to botox-like and filler-like effects, with no side effect and the results can last up to 18 months. While comparable to fillers as it offers plumping and tightening of the treated area, it also works very well on stretch marks and all types of scarring. This versatile service is great for anyone. While this may seem like a pricey option, PRP rejuvenation is known as LIQUID GOLD, and that is not an exaggeration. The process begins with numbing cream applied topically to the face. Secondly, the blood is drawn like usual blood work at the doctors office. The blood is then put into a centrifuge, and spun so the platelet rich plasma is then separated from the other blood particles. Then the PRP or PRF is re-injected into the face or treatment area while it is numb. This is an entirely comfortable procedure. For more information please click below to contact us.

A microcurrent facial is often referred to as a “natural” facelift. This technology emits extremely low-voltage electrical currents (hence ‘micro’ current), which mirror your own body’s electrical currents, on a cellular level to repair damaged skin and stimulate collagen and elastin production. Best suited for succession treatments spaced 2-5 weeks apart. Ask your skincare professional what would be best for you.
